Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)

Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) is a self-regulated body for the accountancy profession in Zambia. It was established by an Act of Parliament of 1982 and repealed by the Accountant’s Act of 2008. The primary mandate of the Institute is to promote and regulate the accountancy profession through the registration of accountants in practice, accountants in business, and accountants in the public sector. The Institute is a notable educator that trains students pursuing professional and technician programmes. ZICA is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) and Chartered Accountants Worldwide (CAW).

It is the only Professional body with a legal mandate for accountants in Zambia, with over 6, 200 members and over 9,300 students. It is serves as an advisor to the Government on matters relating to the economic development in Zambia.
