Chartered Accountants Worldwide sent a delegate from each of the founder institutes to October’s One Young World youth leadership summit in Dublin. This annual international conference and think tank brings together over 1,500 high-potential young people, aged 18-30, from around the world to hear from high-profile speakers like Bill Clinton, Desmond Tutu and Bob Geldof. Delegates form action plans around seven specific ‘impact areas’: Transparency & Integrity; Education; Global Business’ Health; Human Rights; Leadership & Governance and Sustainable Development. As well as representing Chartered Accountants Worldwide alongside their home institutes, our delegates networked with other attendees to demonstrate how the analytical and problem solving skills of Chartered Accountants can contribute to improving the world we live in. Chartered Accountants Ireland hosted a break out session on the Friday focussing on ethics and your moral DNA.

This year’s Chartered Accountants Worldwide delegates were:

John Howarth – ICAEW
Emma Evans – Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand
Judith Shields – Chartered Accountants Ireland
Colin Young – ICAS
Gugu Mtetwa – South African Institute of Chartered Accountants
