Mandatory climate-related financial disclosures are coming in Australia. Are you ready?

The Australian Government is expected to pass the Treasury Laws Amendment (Financial Market Infrastructure and Other Measures) Bill 2024 in the near future, which will introduce mandatory climate related financial disclosures for certain entities starting from 1 January 2025.

To assist finance professionals and finance teams to prepare for mandatory climate-related financial disclosures in Australia, CA ANZ and BDO have collaborated to launch a practical roadmap aimed to help them get ready for reporting.

‘Navigating the Australian climate-related financial disclosure landscape’ details who has to report as well as essential activities needed for reporting entities to undertake to assist in meeting disclosure requirements.

The practical roadmap has been developed for the three reporting groups captured under the reporting regime.
