Not Just the Numbers

CAW Network USA invites you to attend our 2024 in-person conference: Beyond Accounting – Not Just the Numbers in collaboration with Fordham University’s Center for Professional Accounting Practices – Gabelli School of Business on June 13th, 2024.

The conference will be a single stream event running from 10 am to 5.20 pm followed by an optional evening event at 5.30pm with refreshments from 6.30pm. The sessions will take place in the Costantino Room, 2nd Floor, Fordham Law School 150W 62nd Street NY NY. There will be 5 separate sessions, for the main conference, which combine for up to 6 CPE credits. The evening session adds another 1 credit. The conference fee includes coffee/tea breaks and lunch. Also (if the evening event is also selected) an open bar and finger food. It also includes a digital badge and / or a CPE certificate (if applicable and requirements are met).

  • Lunchtime breakout groups covering a variety of topics including sustainability, younger member priorities, future of audit and ‘future skills’.
  • Resilience
  • Enterprise Risk Management
  • Evening Presentation – AI and Fraud by Homeland Security Investigations – New York Cyber Division.

SYNOPSIS: Beyond Accounting – Not Just the Numbers

For 2024, we will have 4 main conference presentations plus various lunchtime breakout sessions.

He also lead KPMG’s Board Advisory practice which helps boards to improve their governance and performance. Deon connects corporate strategy and enterprise risk to drive success in execution of strategy. He brings simplicity / connecting the dots to complex business matters. Deon is CA (SA).

Simone is a senior finance leader with a strong record of strategic partnership across a broad range of business and operational disciplines, with experience in growth and transformational environments. Proven ability to drive process improvements to achieve financial objectives while maintaining operational discipline. Prior to BDO Simone has worked in many senior roles including for companies such as EY, Deloitte, Sony, Coca Cola, Home Depot, PRGX Global, Novelis and Delta Apparel.

Simone is also a Chartered Accountant and member of both ICAEW and CAANZ.

Regulatory Data Specialist / Federal Reserve Bank of New York

Chalene is a Regulatory Data Specialist in the Research and Statistics Group at the New York Fed. As part of her role, she reviews complex regulatory reports and provides interpretive reporting guidance to large foreign and domestic banks and holding companies to assist them in meeting their regulatory reporting requirements. She is also a leader in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, having served in numerous leadership positions as part of the New York Fed’s Women’s Mentoring and Empowerment Employee Resource Network, and as the Bank’s Chief Ombuds Liaison.

Chalene is a graduate from Western University in Canada and the University of Westminster in the UK. She trained in public accounting at PwC Ireland after working in the High Commission of Antigua and Barbuda in London, before transitioning to consultancy then bank regulation on relocation to the US.

Chalene is also a Chartered Accountant and member of CAI.

Santina has over 36 years of international experience in financial oversight, audit public policy, and stakeholder communication. She promotes the importance of the audit profession and audit quality and has been a frequent speaker on matters related to auditing and audit regulation. She has expertise in evaluating the quality control environment of domestic and international affiliates of global network firms and draws from this experience to advise firms on change management and compliance with global standards, including SEC regulations and PCAOB rules and standards. She previously spent 14 years with PCAOB, most recently as Deputy Director in the Division of Registration and Inspections.

She initially qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (now CPA Canada).
