The new Corporate Governance Code comes into force on 1 January 2025, and other regulatory and legislative developments such as the Economic Crime and Transparency Act 2023 will also have implications for the audit committee. Reporting against the new Provision 29 in the Corporate Governance Code 2024 on the effectiveness of risk management and internal controls will start from 2027.
