Jessica Fries

Jessica Fries, Executive Chair, Accounting for Sustainability (A4S)

Jessica Fries is the Executive Chair of Accounting for Sustainability (A4S), established by HM King Charles III in 2004, when he was The Prince of Wales. She has led A4S since 2008, working with Chairs, CEOs, CFOs and other leaders from across the business and finance community to make sustainable business, business as usual.

While at A4S, Jessica has been responsible for catalysing change in corporate reporting through the establishment of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) and the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), as well as transforming decision making through A4S’s CFO, education and capital markets programmes. Previously, Jessica held a number of roles at PwC advising a wide range of companies, governments, investors and not-for-profit organizations.

Jessica has written extensively on ways to integrate sustainability into business and finance and has been a member of several International, European and UK Government Committees, including the UK Treasury’s Sustainability Reporting Steering Committee, the European Commission’s Expert Group on Non-Financial Disclosure and the UN Sustainable Stock Exchange Advisory Group. She is currently the Chair of the GRI’s Supervisory Board, a member of the IFRS Foundation’s Integrated Reporting and Connectivity Council, and a member of the Smith School Global Sustainable Finance Advisory Council.

Jessica is a chartered accountant, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, has an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and a BA in Economics from the University of Cambridge.

Ainslie van Onselen

Our Host: Ainslie van Onselen, Chair of Chartered Accountants Worldwide, CEO of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ)

Ainslie has been the Chief Executive Officer of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand since May 2020 (CAANZ). For more than 20 years Ainslie enjoyed a parallel career as a law partner and non-executive director, before progressing into senior C-suite executive roles including Managing Director and CEO of RAMS Home Loans and running Australia’s second largest bank, Westpac’s $200 billion retail deposits and credit card portfolio.

Ainslie is passionate about social justice, inclusion and diversity. She is the former Global Director of Women’s Markets, Inclusion and Diversity for Westpac and currently serves as a Commissioner of Legal Aid New South Wales and Chair of New South Wales number one non-select private school, Kambala Girls School and is a member of Chief Executive Women, Australia.

An Australian Financial Review Women of Influence winner and a former 40 under 40 WA Business News and University of Western Australia Award winner, Ainslie was invited to represent CAANZ and the accounting and auditing professions at the Australian Government’s 2022 Jobs Summit.

As well as steering CAANZ’s strategy and digital and data transformation, Ainslie drives CAANZ’s inclusion and diversity agenda and is a prominent advocate for global sustainability and ESG standards.
