A workshop for small/medium enterprises (SMEs) and accounting practices on sustainability. This interactive half-day session will focus on positive actions you can take to understand the ‘trickle-down’ effect of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (‘CSRD’), green public procurement, access to sustainable finance, and how to make your business or practice more sustainable to save costs and respond to stakeholder demands.

This course will be delivered via Zoom on Friday 13 September 2024 from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The Zoom link will be emailed to participants the day before the course is due to take place. Please note that this course will not be recorded, so attendance is required

Multi-speaker team from Chartered Accountants Ireland speaking about sustainability-related challenges from supply chain ESG questionnaires, green public procurement, carbon tax, CBAM, circular economy, carbon foot-printing and data challenges.
Rachel Post is Senior Sustainability Consultant at FPM and one of Ireland’s first B Leaders, trained by B Lab Europe. An accomplished professional in the field of sustainability, Rachel’s global perspective enriches her ability to address complex sustainability issues and tailor strategies to the specific needs of businesses. Rachel excels in helping businesses embrace a triple bottom line approach – encompassing people, planet, and profit. Her expertise empowers organisations to make a meaningful and measurable impact on environmental and social outcomes, while also unlocking long-term economic value.
Joanne Sheahan is Senior Executive with Enterprise Ireland, providing a range of capability-development, planning and investment supports to help business achieve their sustainability ambitions. With 15 years’ experience working in sustainability across the public and private sectors, Joanne helps companies to measure and improve their sustainability performance. Prior to joining Enterprise Ireland Joanne led a range of energy research and innovation activities for the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) in support of Ireland’s low carbon energy transition. Joanne is a graduate in Law from NUI Galway and holds a Masters in Ecological Economics from the University of Edinburgh.
Michael Morrissey is a Partner in Morrissey Chartered Accountants. In addition to offering a full range of accountancy and tax services, Michael specialises in providing advisory services to SME’s including strategy development, executive mentoring, business operating models and ESG services. Michael graduated from Ulster University with a BA (Hons) Accountancy Degree and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with PWC, before working for 20 years with Crossgar Foodservice as a director and shareholder responsible for the strategic direction of the business and MD of the foodservice division, In 2012 the business was sold to a NYSE listed US foodservice corporation. Michael is the Chairperson of Down Business Centre a Local Enterprise Agency and a board member of the Downpatrick Regeneration working Group. Also a keen triathlete and founder member of Down Triathlon Club.
