Strengthen your capabilities in sustainability reporting

As part of our commitment to supporting Australian businesses through the evolving sustainability landscape, we are proud to partner with the UN Global Compact Network Australia (UNGCNA) and the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) to launch the Sustainability Reporting Community of Practice (SRCoP).

This initiative is designed to help Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) members and other professionals in business to navigate emerging sustainability reporting requirements, share learnings and knowledge, and foster collaboration in a safe space.

The first stream of the SRCoP – SRCoP: Climate – supports corporations as they seek to meet their reporting obligations in-line with the Australian Accounting Standards Board’s (AASB) S2 Climate-related Disclosures (AASB S2). Ultimately, participants will have options to join relevant interest streams across the key themes of Climate, Nature and Social. Sessions will be offered to all participants including sessions on reporting fundamentals, governance, and other cross-cutting topics.

Whether you’re in financial reporting, audit, risk, or compliance, SRCoP provides the tools and community to help you:

  • navigate new sustainability reporting requirements with confidence and clarity
  • connect with peers across industries to exchange practical strategies and challenges
  • strengthen your organisation’s ESG disclosures by integrating financial and non-financial data
  • prepare for regulatory developments, including Australia’s formal sustainability reporting regime.

As a special initiative of the United Nations (UN) Secretary-General, the UN Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with Ten Principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

Locally, the UN Global Compact Network Australia (UNGCNA) brings together 300+ Australian signatories to the UN Global Compact – including over 80 ASX listed companies – as well as leading non-profits, universities and SMEs to advance the private sector’s contribution to sustainable development. We lead, enable and connect businesses and stakeholders to create a sustainable future by supporting businesses to act responsibly and helping them find opportunities to drive positive business outcomes.

The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) is home to around 2,000 listed companies from more than 70 industries with a combined market capitalisation of $3.2 trillion dollars. ASX is an integrated exchange offering listings, trading, clearing, settlement, technical and information services, technology, data and other post-trade services. It acts as a market operator, clearing house and payments system facilitator. It oversees compliance with its operating rules, promotes standards of corporate governance among Australia’s listed companies and helps to educate retail investors.
