Developing a healthy curiosity to anticipate fraud before it happens

August 4, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm IST

curiosity

The phrase “professional scepticism” is something which is deeply rooted in the world of auditing. It’s heavily debated within and outside the accountancy and auditing professions, but what does it really mean?

In this webinar we will explore through a series of practical case exercises and feedback sessions how a healthy sense of curiosity combined with a professional mindset can enhance the quality of auditing, financial reporting and of course all forms of accountancy, and of course deal with fraud much earlier than has been typically dealt with in the past.

Rene Descartes said, “I think, therefore I am”. Let’s take his lead and say, “We are curious so therefore we are alive”.

About the speaker

Nigel Iyer, Chartered Accountant (ICAEW), Computer Scientist and Dramatist, plus a CIMA Fellow
For 25 years as a Fraud Detective, he has passionately, some will say pathologically, helped organisations across the world identify and resolve fraud.
