ICAS Webinar

Event summary

It’s widely believed that belonging to communities can provide us with a purpose, a sense of belonging, safety and support in hard times – all of which can have a positive impact on our mental health.

Join us during Mental Health Awareness Week as we explore this year’s theme of community and the role it plays in fostering healthy mental wellbeing.

Our panel will discuss how, in an increasingly fragmented world, professional networks, mentoring, and peer support can make a tangible difference to your mental health.

Learning outcomes

  • Understand how professional communities and support networks contribute to mental health and wellbeing.
  • Explore the impact of community on mental health in professional settings, including neurodiversity and leadership challenges.
  • Discover the resources available through ICAS’s Wellbeing and Employer Assistance Programs for members, students and their families.

They’ll consider how belonging to a professional community can help with challenges including career transitions, entrepreneurship, and high-pressure leadership roles.

And together, we’ll navigate topics such as neurodiversity and mental health in the workplace, breaking isolation in the accounting profession and the impact of community and connection on our mental wellbeing.

The conversation will be hosted by Jonny Jacobs CA, CFO at Holland & Barrett and Mental Health Advocate, and the panel will also feature:

  • Indy Singh Hothi CA – Former ICAS President, Community & Leadership Advocate
  • Lisa Blum CA – Finance Business Partner at Lloyds Banking Group
  • Rhona Thomson CA – Executive Director at Morgan Stanley Fund Services

You’ll be able to join in on the discussion during the Q&A and discover how we support ICAS students and members through our Wellbeing Programme and the expansion of our Employer Assistance Programme to all members and their immediate family.
