Laura Mason

Chartered Accountant and Chartered Management Consultant & Assistant Manager at Grant Thornton UK LLP

Laura Mason CA’s work bridges finance, data and public service to create lasting impact. With experience in transport, energy and climate resilience, she has shaped multi-billion-pound procurement projects and designed tools to allocate government funding effectively – including £10m for offshore wind in the Celtic Sea. A chartered management consultant as well as a CA, Mason goes beyond spreadsheets, building Data Analytics tools for national funding, writing thought leadership on AI and EVs and speaking on public service innovation.

Laura is also using her position to drive social change, co-developing chatbots to improve access to mental health care and local services for recent arrivals in the UK who don’t speak English or don't have access to the internet. As an advocate for marine sustainability, she has spoken at the UN Ocean Conference, EU Maritime Day and Unesco events, championing ocean health and seaweed recycling. She’s raised more than £500,000 for global health and education causes and represents ICAS as a London Area Network member, amplifying diverse voices in the profession.

Whether building financial models or influencing climate change and policy dialogues, she demonstrates that being a CA today means leading with purpose, innovation and impact. Her career shows how finance can be a tool for public good – making her a true changemaker and a powerful voice for the future of the profession.

Sophie Sweeney

Lecturer in Accountancy, Finance and Taxation at the University of Galway, Ireland

Sophie Sweeney is a Lecturer in Accountancy, Finance and Taxation at the University of Galway, Ireland. A Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser, she combines professional expertise with a strong commitment to teaching, research and community engagement. Sophie leads modules and courses in all areas of accountancy and coordinates innovative experiential learning initiatives including the University of Galway Tax Clinic and the EY Luxembourg Alternative Investments Summer School.

Her PhD research explores the lived experience of taxation across the life course, with a focus on fiscal citizenship, trust in tax administrations and digital transformation. She has contributed to international publications, including the Irish chapter of Double Taxation in Europe: A Practical Guide to Obstacles and Avoidance Measures and regularly presents at professional forums.

Passionate about sustainability and social impact, Sophie actively integrates the UN Sustainable Development Goals into her teaching and research. She was named Chartered Accountants Ireland’s Chartered Star 2025 for her leadership in embedding inclusive, practice-based learning in higher education. As a mother of two, she also brings inclusivity, equity and intergenerational perspectives to every aspect of her work.

Saad Bin Asim Zubairi

Assistant Manager, Audit at KPMG Bahrain

As a qualified chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, I bring over 9+ years of professional experience in auditing and consulting with Big Four firms. My career has been anchored in integrity, critical thinking, and a global outlook. I have had the privilege of auditing and advising clients primarily in the telecommunication and technology industries, gaining firsthand insight into the financial, operational, and governance challenges that organizations face in an increasingly interconnected world. These experiences have strengthened my belief that transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership are essential to building trust and driving sustainable progress.

What excites me about the One Young World Summit 2025 is not only the opportunity to connect with young leaders from across the globe, but also the chance to explore how my professional skills and personal passions can contribute to meaningful change. Beyond finance, I am interested in advocating for the ethical use of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI). I see AI as one of the defining forces of our time capable of solving global challenges yet requiring careful monitoring to ensure its benefits are inclusive and responsible. I actively speak out against hate and promote dialogue rooted in empathy and respect, in personal as well as professional environments.

Outside my profession, I am a numismatist and history enthusiast. These interests shape my appreciation for cultural legacies and reinforce the importance of preserving diverse narratives that define who we are as societies. They remind me that true progress is strongest when it honors the stories, struggles, and contributions of all communities.

Joining the summit in Munich is a part of my journey to learn and contribute to making meaningful social impact, including collaborating on ideas that advance technology-driven ethical solutions to global problems for a more inclusive future.

Jaspreet Rayat

Financial Accountant at EDF Trading

I am an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and Council Member, passionate about social mobility and breaking down barriers within the accountancy profession. I grew up in Birmingham from the UK, attended a state school, and began my career through the apprenticeship route at a small accounting firm. Over time, I progressed to a large international firm, where I qualified as an ACA.

Alongside my professional career, I was elected Chair of the ICAEW Student Council for 2024–25, representing thousands of ACA students across the UK and globally. I now serve on ICAEW Main Council, who contribute to shaping the Institute’s strategy and ensure that students and young professionals are heard at the highest level.

I was invited back to my former college to speak on career pathways, helping students challenge stereotypes about accountancy. I’ve also taken part in ICAEW filmed interviews, articles and a podcast to dispel myths about the profession and share advice from my own journey. In the past year I relocated to London to challenge myself and embrace new opportunities — because I believe growth comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone.

At One Young World, I am representing ICAEW with the mission to champion inclusion, social mobility and opportunity in accountancy, and to connect with change-makers from around the world who are driving social impact in their own fields.

I am a Chartered Accountant and Senior Risk Manager with over a decade of experience in financial services, where I have specialised in strengthening risk culture, governance, and operational resilience. My career journey has taken me from advisory roles into leadership within the First Line of Defence, where I focus on embedding practical risk management that enables organisations to operate safely and sustainably.

Beyond my professional achievements, I am deeply motivated by the broader purpose of financial services as a driver of trust, inclusion, and stability in society. I help lead initiatives to simplify risk frameworks, mentor emerging professionals, and champion diverse voices within the workplace, ensuring that innovation and accountability go hand in hand.

My personal journey from qualifying as a Chartered Accountant to navigating international moves and working across cultures has reinforced my belief in resilience, adaptability, and the importance of ethical leadership.

Christiaan Coetzee

Christiaan Coetzee CA(SA) is the Co-founder and CEO of The Audit Toolbar, the Excel based tool transforming audit workflows across more than 300 firms and 3,000 auditors worldwide. Recognised as the overall winner of SAICA’s Top 35 Under 35 in 2024, he has become a leading voice on how technology, data, and people intersect to shape the future of the audit profession.

Through hand on experience and an active career delivering multiple audit client engagements, he has recognised the need to address the inefficiencies in audit automation and has committed to creating and driving genuine value based change across the audit spectrum..

Sitali Chiuyu

Head of the Internal Audit Department at Kapasa Makasa University, Zambia

Sitali is currently the Head of the Internal Audit Department at Kapasa Makasa University in Zambia, providing leadership in governance, accountability, and risk management. Sitali was recently recognised as the Best Graduating Student in the CA Zambia program, a professional qualification equivalent to a Master’s degree in accounting and finance.

Sitali's academic background includes a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering, which has equipped him with a strong analytical and problem-solving foundation. Beyond his professional role, Sitali runs a small financial institution, fostering entrepreneurship and financial inclusion within his community. Sitali's interests include business, entrepreneurship, and investments, with a focus on creating sustainable economic opportunities.

Khethiwe Sibanyoni

Founder, Khethi's Foundation and Audit Trainee, Deloitte

Khethiwe is a distinguished Gender-Based Violence (GBV) activist whose journey in this field began with her volunteer work at Jes Foord Foundation during her primary school years. Witnessing the devastating impact of GBV on individuals she knew, Khethiwe became increasingly dedicated to advocating for the rights of women and young girls. In response to the alarming rise in femicide and GBV cases during the 2020 hard lockdown, she initiated the #helpinggbvsurvivors campaign. This social impact initiative engaged the public in packing comfort bags for GBV victims, which included essential items such as toiletries, stationery, and COVID-19 protective gear. These efforts aimed to restore dignity to survivors and provide economic relief to non-profit organizations facing resource shortages.

This initiative laid the groundwork for Khethi's Foundation, a non-profit company that Khethiwe founded to address GBV through detection, prevention, and correction. Under her leadership, the foundation has established a permanent partnership with the Kolisi Foundation, founded by Rachel and Siya Kolisi. Khethi's Foundation has also received notable recognition, including placing second overall in the Allan Gray Social Impact Competition in 2020.

Khethiwe's exceptional leadership and commitment to social impact have earned her numerous accolades. She was placed second in the EDHE Intervarsity competition under the social impact cohort at Witwatersrand University in 2022 and third in the annual Nedbank YouthX competition under the Social Good and Sustainability category the same year. In 2024, she was honored as one of News24's 30 Young Mandelas of the Future and received the End GBV Award from the Fabulous Woman Foundation, endorsed by the renowned artist Esther Mahlangu.

As an audit trainee at Deloitte, Khethiwe balances her professional responsibilities with her role as a social impact leader. In November 2024, she was recognized as a social change champion and the overall trainee trailblazer of the year by SAICA, further affirming her commitment to excellence. In 2025, Deloitte Africa partnered with Khethi's Foundation to raise awareness about GBV in South Africa, donating over R100,000 in comfort and dignity bags to provide immediate economic relief to GBV victims. Sunday World has also recognized Khethiwe as an unsung hero, highlighting her pioneering efforts in humanitarianism.

As 2025 One Young World Delegate, Khethiwe will proudly represent SAICA as a trailblazer committed to social change.

Khethiwe continues to drive meaningful change while encouraging young people across the globe to devote themselves to active citizenship.
